Building Community Resilience: Firescaping Your Garden
Ages 18 and older - protect your home and support native pollinators by using native plants in your landscape. This expert-led workshop organized by Friends of Coal Creek will introduce you to the principles of fire-wise landscaping in residential areas as well as plant selection from native species with low flammability.
- You will leave with a planting template you can use at your property.
- Registration is optional, however everyone who registers in advance and is present will be entered into a random drawing - five lucky winners will receive a complete native planting kit with about 50 seedlings, to be picked up in May.

About the Presenter
Curtis Manning is owner of Meadow Pro, a Lafayette-based native landscaping company, and is frequent lecturer at the Denver Botanic Gardens. He is an expert in fire-wise landscaping techniques, garden design, and the use native plants in the landscape to encourage biodiversity.

Lafayette Learns is a program offering presentations and hands-on workshops that allow community members, typically ages 18 and older, to expand their minds with informative programs, featuring guest speakers from the community on a variety of rotating topics or recurring series.
