Lafayette Learns: "The Road to Noto - How a Font Unified Global Publishing"
Adults and older teens - join us for Lafayette Learns, a monthly program that allows community members to expand their minds with informative programs. This week, in partnership with the Book Arts League, we welcome Steve Matteson, Louisville resident and typeface designer, to discuss the Noto project.
Noto is a set of fonts offered by Google to enable the typesetting of over 800 languages making it the largest font family ever produced. Matteson, the chief designer, will discuss how the project came to be, with a quick introduction of how type designs are created and his experiences leading up to Noto’s release and current status.
