SRP Event - Marimba Workshop with Blessing Chimanga
All ages - join the Library, Arts & Cultural Resources, and Cultural Caravan for an interactive Zimbabwean Marimba session.
Whether you’re a total beginner or a lifelong fan of African music, this is your chance to experience the joy of the Zimbabwean marimba firsthand. Led by renowned percussionist and composer Blessing Chimanga, this workshop encourages participants of all ages and backgrounds to explore rhythm, movement, and musical connection in a welcoming, high-energy setting.
No experience is necessary, and all instruments are provided. Come ready to learn, play, and have a great time — this is music that brings people together, whether you’re eight or eighty.
