Maker Mondays - Ancient Art of the Book with the Book Arts League
Adults 18 and older - sign up for a 4-week workshop to learn all about the ancient arts of the book with members of the Lafayette Book Arts League. Learn all the processes involved in making a book. We'll talk about paper, decorate paper with quick paper marbling, learn tabletop letterpress printing and learn to sew folded pages into a book! This class will meet Mondays from 1:30-3:30pm (Nov. 6, 13, 20, and 27).
- Week 1 - artist books: an overview and simple folded structures
- Week 2 - paper: shaving cream/paper marbling activity
- Week 3 - printing: tabletop letterpress printing activity
- Week 4 - bookbinding: presentation of fine binding and learning to sew a simple textblock activity
