Tune into Nature: Make Your Garden Count

Tune into Nature: Make Your Garden Count

Adults and older teens - join the Library and Open Space for a Tune into Nature edition of Lafayette Learns as we celebrate the return of our Seed Library with an informative Friends of Coal Creek program about local pollinators. CSU Extension will give away free plants afterwards!

Casey Lyons, founder and director of Friends of Coal Creek, will talk about how to use native plants to maximize benefits to pollinators and make your garden count in the Coal Creek Pollinator District, a regional network of quality habitat spanning Coal Creek's run from Superior to Erie.

After the program, Colorado Master Gardener volunteers will distribute free native plant seedlings and free science-backed gardening information to the public at a Plant Mobile event outside. CSU Extension Boulder County’s Plant Mobile supports local pollinators and spreads the love of native plants! Plants will be given to program attendees first then other participants while supplies last.

Stop by the Library in May to pick out two seed packets, located in the old school card catalog-turned-seed catalog upstairs (ask at the Reader's Advisory desk at the top of the stairs!).
